All our clients are unique, to get a better understanding of your needs during your initial inquiry, we will provide you with a Bridal Booking Form where you can fill in all the details required to complete your booking. This is also our opportunity to get to know each other and ensure our team is a great fit for your wedding day. Once completed, we will send you a customized proposal along with our contract, invoice and the list of services to be performed. As you finish reviewing the contract, we require a 50% retainer fee representing half of the Wedding Day total. Our contract can be signed online through our booking system and payment is prompted in a scheduled fashion. Once you have signed and sent your retainer fee, keep an eye out for our confirmation email !

Now comes the fun part! Your bridal experience starts with curating your vision board. Here, we’ll send an invitation to your very own Pinterest board where you can start saving your desired hair and makeup looks! Your trial session is recommended around 1-3 months prior to your wedding. At this stage, your details are finalizing, your dress & accessories have arrived and you have a clear idea of your wedding style. All of these items will be used to design your custom bridal look!

We will also work with you on scheduling a time that works best, but please understand that we cannot secure any weekend dates as weekends are typically reserved for our weddings. If you would like to request a specific date for your trial session, please let us know prior to your contract signing.

To help make an outstanding bridal trial session, we will send along your very own Bridal Prep Booklet. This magazine guide comes with a list of skincare product suggestions, skin specialist recommendations, vendor referrals as well as Wedding Trial and Wedding Day Reminders/Tips!

During this time, we will work with you to find your own unique style and personality to create the look you’ll love. When you are happy with the final look we will go through the arrangement for the big day so you can be assured that everything will run smoothly and you know what to expect.

Lastly, as we approach the final month leading up to your wedding, we will send out your customized bridal beauty timeline detailing the services required, which artists they are with and their designated time slot. We then guide you through how you and your bridal party should prepare prior to the wedding day, and finally meet on the morning of the wedding!

Hygiene is taken very seriously. All brushes, tools and makeup products are kept sanitary and are sanitized after every makeup application using professional grade brush cleaners. Any skin conditions or allergies are to be informed by the client to the artist prior to application and styling.

How do you keep your tools and products clean?

During your planning stages, you will want to allow and budget for at least 45-60 minutes, per person, per service. This can vary slightly depending on the clients skin type, elaborateness of style requests, varying hair lengths, thickness and/or each bridal bookings direct needs requested. 

how long will the services take?

We love high quality and professional grade makeup products that are designed to give long lasting results and photographs beautifully! The only touch ups needed will be your lips due to drinking/eating. As a makeup artist, we're able to set your makeup and ensure it looks just as flawless in the morning as it does at night. The main brands we use are RCMA, Face Atelier, Charlotte Tilbury, Urban Decay, Make Up For Ever, Laura Mercier, NARS, Temptu, MAC, Hourglass, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Kat Von D, Tarte, and many more!

What makeup brands do you use?

On average our clients book their services with us 8-12 months in advance. Doing so will ensure you lock down all your  wedding vendors, holds your rates, plus it gives you time to figure out what you like so that you don’t feel pressured closer to the wedding day, or left scrambling to find someone available. Peak bridal season is April through October. July, August and September are the busiest and highest demand months, often booking up the fastest. May and June are grad months, and see 10x the demand for beauty services and book up equally as fast.

How far in advance should I book?

Frequently asked questions

Any changes such as removal of any service/s should be discussed and informed ideally two (2) months prior to the wedding. Any removal of service/s within two (2) months prior to the wedding will NOT be accepted and will still be charged on the final invoice. Client may add people to the list of services but cannot reduce the number of services booked.  Please get in touch with TLC Hair & Makeup at least two to three (2-3) months prior to the event date should any details change such as timing and location. We will do our best to accommodate your request.

* Due to the high demand of spring/summer months, weekends between the months of May and September (not including the travel costs) require a minimum booking of 3+ people in the Lower Mainland & 5+ people for destination weddings for both hair & makeup services.

Can I add/remove people from the original quote after I pay the RETAINER FEE? 

Yes, start times before 6:00 am is subject to an early fee of $20/per artist 

Is there an early morning fee for the wedding day?

Trial rates include only one style; however we are more than happy to accommodate any slight changes or adjustments to your style that will suit best with your desired look. 

How many hair and makeup styles can I try on during the trial?

Trials are scheduled to be held at our studio in Vancouver near Queen Elizabeth park . Travel fees may apply to trial sessions if scheduled outside of our studio with the exception of Vancouver locations. Please note trials are only available on weekdays, as weekends are reserved for on-location services for our wedding bookings. 

Where will the trial take place?

A trial can take place as soon as you are ready to have it, however it might be helpful to have it 1 to 3 months prior to your wedding day as your skin and hair conditions might be similar to the way they will be on your wedding day. We highly recommend that you book your trial date as soon as you can to secure the date and timing with us in advance.

The Lolita Collective Hair & Makeup wants to ensure all our clients that will be receiving services by us fully understand, and are implementing, all new protocols and requirements. The Lolita Collective is taking every precaution that we believe we can in order to ensure our Artists and Clients stay safe. 

Health and safety of all our clients has always been top priority and it is of utmost importance to us that both our clients and team members feel comfortable for any bookings. We have always had strict hygiene requirements of always sanitizing and disinfecting our brushes, kit, and products after every client/booking. We use both 70% alcohol and 99% alcohol to clean our kit, tools, and makeup, and use disposable wands on necessary products to avoid contamination of any makeup. Additionally, we use a disinfectant called PREempt and Barbicide that is often used in the beauty industry/salons to disinfect work areas, stations, as well hair and makeup tools and kit. In addition, we deep clean all our makeup brushes both with a professional-grade cleaner, such as Cinema Secret Makeup Brush Cleaner (for mobile bookings) and use antibacterial soap after each booking. Additionally,  our shared studio is following all WorkSafeBC guidelines, and is kept clean and sanitized after every client. We have implemented an additional 15 minutes in between each booking to allow us time to thoroughly sanitize our stations, kit, and tools. Everyone at the studio will be wearing appropriate PPE during services, and a sanitization station will be available for everyone to use upon entering and exiting.

In-Studio Booking Policies
1. All our Artists will be required to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times while in the Studio and/or with a Client. 
Clients are required to wear a face mask during your service (other than makeup services). Please bring your own face mask or face covering. As supplies are limited, we may not be able to provide one for you and in that case, we would have to terminate which of course, we do not want to do.
2. Our artists will need to add 15 minutes to each of your appointments in order to ensure there is plenty of time for us to properly sanitize our tools and products after each client, thoroughly wash our hands with soap and water for twenty seconds, and clean and sanitize our work space between each client. 
3. Anyone entering the Studio will be required to use the Sanitization Station provided at the entrance to the Studio or asked to wash their hands with soap and warm water.
  
Mobile Booking Policies
1. Our artists will be wearing personal protective equipment at all times for mobile bookings and will be carrying proper sanitization products to thoroughly sanitize their surroundings, station, and kit. Sanitation products include, but are not limited to, 70% alcohol, 99% alcohol, wipes, and soap. 
2. To ensure our station and kit are clean at all times, 15 minutes will need to be added after each client to wash our hands, and clean our tools and products. Our team will be reaching out to discuss any scheduling updates. Each client will have to wait in-between until we have sanitized properly.
3. For home visits, we ask that you help do your part in keeping distance wherever it can be kept, and thoroughly sanitize your location before your artist arrives, and again when they leave. 

Most importantly, if you are sick, have recently travelled, or have been in contact with anyone that is sick, please stay home. Appointments will be cancelled at the time of the appointment if any Client exhibits any signs of illness. On the contrary, should any of our Artists show signs of illness, they will also be sent home. The safety of our Clients and our Staff is a priority. If you are sick and are able to provide us with notice, it would be much appreciated as it will ensure the cancellation or postponement of your booking/s runs as smoothly as possible.  Thank you for your patience and understanding during these times and we cannot wait to see everyone again soon!

Via is such a talented make up artist! She is such a sweet and professional person as well. I had to change both the times of my trial makeup and wedding day makeup which she was both accommodating to.
After the makeup trial, I received so many compliments from family and friends. On the wedding day, my family, friends and husband were blown away. My makeup looked more Amazing than I could have ever imagined!  On the day of the wedding, as promised, she supplied me with a goodie bag of the makeup she used along with some makeup remover and a few other extras. I wasn't exactly positive on what I wanted for my wedding makeup but with a few pictures as well as her talent and inspiration, she created an Amazing look for my special day! She not only does wedding makeup but all kinds of event makeup and I will definitely be using her again in the future! Thank you again Via for all of your hard work, talent and kindness!!
